Gym Rules and General Information

Welcome to The Crucible Gym. Here, we focus on building discipline, strength, and character. So we hope that, whether you join us or train independently, you come in with an open mind and a willingness to learn. As such, we have a few rules for you to keep in mind to let everyone enjoy their training time.
Respect the Floor
Treat everyone you encounter in the Gym with respect. Harassment, intimidation, or hostility are not allowed here.No Unapproved Sparring
We don’t mind friendly sparring here, but please spar only with those who have given their consent, and, if possible, have a trainer or staff member present when needed.Know Your Limits
Work hard, but be smart about your training. If you feel hurt, tired, or unwell, take a break. Your health matters more than pride.Clean Up After Yourself
Put away equipment, keep training areas tidy, and do not leave weapons, wraps, towels, or personal items on the floor. Keeping the place clean and safe for your fellow trainers is greatly appreciated! If you see something that needs tending to, please reach out to our attendant staff where possible.Weapons Outdoors Only
Bladed, enchanted, firearms-based, or other dangerous weapons are allowed to be used on the outdoor Training Lanes provided. For insurance and safety reasons, weapons must be stored away indoors. Should you need a key, please see our attendants on the second and third floors for storage keys.No Magic or Aetherial Energy Usage Allowed on the Grounds
The Crucible is a gym, not a place for uncontrolled magic. While we honor those with natural aetherial energies and magics, the gym's mission is to train in the material and physical bodies, so we ask that you refrain from using magics where possible during your training sessions. The same goes for healing: please do not use aetherial magics without the injured person’s consent. Please reach out to a staff member who can assist you.Do Not Interrupt Active Training:
If a session, class, spar, or lesson is happening, please wait for a natural break before joining in or asking questions. You will find that most of our team is happy to get you involved when they can, or to assist with other questions/needs before or after class.Proper Attire Required While Training:
Wear clothing that is safe and comfortable for training activities. This includes closed-toed shoes, minimal armor (no heavy plate, please!), and loose-fitting clothing that covers all sensitive areas of the body. While we understand people get warm and thus want to wear minimal clothing, for the comfort and safety of all, please cover all sensitive areas. We greatly appreciate your support in this. The Staff Has Final Say
Trainers and staff can stop a session, limit equipment use, or ask a person to leave the gym if there are safety or behavioral concerns. Please honor and show respect to the staff as we are looking out for your best interests. The Crucible exists to help you grow stronger but not to encourage recklessness. Train with discipline, fight only with consent, and aim to leave better than when you came.

Exercises Of Note
The Humility Wall

The Humility Wall, is known to catch off guard even the most seasoned of climbers. But should you fail, do not fret or beat yourself up. For even our owners have failed to scale this wall. Cords and Chalk are on the shelves directly next to it and it is highly advised to use them regardless of your climbing skills.
RP Instructions:
/random 25 -- in increment turns of 5, 10, 15, 20 to clear.
You get a + 3 if you have chalk on your hands and use the cord to stablize you
On a nat 1 - you will get one reroll to rally through!
Two consecutive fails on a turn means you lose your complete grip and fall, which means you have to start again at the bottom.(Note: The Floor underneath is padded so if you hit the ground, know there is something breaking your fall! This only applies if you forgo the cord! If you had the cord attached, you just simply dangle in shame.)
The Training Ring

The Training Ring is designed for those who want to spar or practice some moves. We ask that you please spar only with those who have given consent. These rules come from The Grindstone RP Fighting Community in Balmung:
Company Carrd
RP Instructions:This utilizes /random feature!
Both opponents roll initiative. The highest roll wins and attacks first. The attacking player writes their post in a custom emote using /em. After posting, they roll the die.The defending player rolls their die to defend. If the defender rolls higher than the attack, they have successfully avoided damage. A lower roll means they have been struck. In the event of a tie, reroll both attack and defense. Regardless, after determining the result, the defender then posts their /emote to show the effect.Switch roles and repeat. The defender is now on the offensive, and the attacker is defending. The first person to win three contests wins the match.
The Dueling Lanes

The Dueling Lanes are for those of you who wish to either duel in a safe way with weapons, or if you are just looking to practice your weaponry skills. Should you wish to duel with another, the striking dummies act as aetherial neutralizers, which turn all weapon damage to non-lethal injuries. As always, we ask that if you choose to spar with another, you fight with consent in a friendly way.
RP Instructions:
Note: You can either utilize the Grindstone Rules, or a simplified ruleset belowBoth sides do a /random 20 at the same time. The highest person wins the round point, and then both sides proceed in RP to complete the turn. The next turn goes once both sides have completed their RP responses to the results of the previous turn. Most groups do best out of 5, but you can go as long as you wish. We usually recommend no more than a best-of-7 to allow others access to the dueling lanes during peak times.
